For crying out loud!!

For crying out loud :
(1):For crying out loud, son! When are you going to do what I've told you and clean up your room! I just looked in there again and it's so messy I had to look twice to make sure your bed was still there under all that junk.

2: For crying out loud! Jack took my tennis racket again. How many times have I told him I don't mind letting him use it, but he at least has to ask first in case I need it myself!

Fly me to the moon

Fly me to the moon可算是經典名曲,最初這首歌是1954年由Kaye Ballard錄音,當時是以In Other Words之名推出。後來Portia Nelson也翻唱了這首歌,而「Fly Me to the Moon」這個名字則是Johnny Mathis在1956年推出專輯之時出現的。

Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On a-Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby, kiss me

Fill my heart with song
And let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you

Fill my heart with song
Let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, in other words
I love ... you
  • Worship -
  • In other words -
  • Long for - 盼望、期待己久

其實上述兩句均是來自英文當中:「You are not my cup of tea」,是用來拒絕追求者的。

He was running as hard as he could, but he realised that he was not strong enough to be a good marathon runner. In the distance he could just make out the shapes of the leading runners, getting further ahead every minute. 'You'll have to speed up if you're going to catch them,’ he thought to himself.

Helping the kids out of their coats
But wait the babies haven't been born oh
Unpacking the bags and setting up
And planting lilacs and buttercups oh

But in the meantime we've got it hard
Second floor living without a yard
It may be years until the day
My dreams will match up with my pay

Old dirt road,
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
knee deep snow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
o-o-o-o-old

I got a man to stick it out
And make a home from a rented house oh
And we'll collect the moments one by one
I guess that's how the future's done oh

How many acres, how much light
Tucked in the woods and out of sight
Talk to the neighbours and tip my cap
On a little road barely on the map

Old dirt road,
mushaboom, mushaboom)
knee deep snow
mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow,
mushaboom, mushaboom)
o-o-o-o-old
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Old dirt road rambling rose
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
